TechBridge Celebrates Completion of 7th Annual Technology Community Habitat for Humanity House

TechBridge gratefully acknowledges the dedication and commitment to the community of its sponsors and their IT professionals.

Atlanta-based TechBridge, a nonprofit dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to do more and serve more people, is pleased to announce the completion of its 7th annual build in partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Keys were turned over to the new owner at the May 26, 2011 dedication ceremony for the home.

Continuing a strong legacy of proactive and tangible impact in our community, fourteen TechBridge corporate sponsors joined together to donate $75,000 to help fund the build and provided volunteers from their IT departments to complete the home located in southeast Atlanta. The group also donated $2,000 to TechBridge in appreciation for its project management services for the build.

TechBridge gratefully acknowledges the dedication and commitment to the community of its sponsors and their IT professionals, noting that seven corporate sponsors have participated in its annual Habitat project since its beginning in 2005: AGL Resources, Crimson Oak Consulting, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, GE Energy, Southern Company, Synergis and The Coca-Cola Company. Participating since 2006 is Pyramid Consulting, while CCCi has participated in the past five annual build projects. The 2011 build was the second year of participation for: iGATE Corporation, InterContinental Hotels Group, Landis+Gyr, MDI Group and Teradata Corporation.

In keeping with the technology-themed build, the homeowner received a new computer and monitor donated by GE Energy, software donated by Microsoft, and a printer and gift certificate for a computer desk and chair given by the home build sponsors. The build team was also grateful to The Coca-Cola Company for providing beverages throughout the project.

"We are honored to be a part of the wonderfully generous technology community and their heartfelt support," said TechBridge CEO, Kathleen Kurre. "Whether we are implementing technology or building houses together, it is powerful feeling the impact we make and the lives we touch."

The annual TechBridge Technology Community Habitat House project provides a powerful opportunity for IT professionals to network and for sponsoring companies to promote team building and corporate citizenship all while doing tremendous good. Companies interested in participating in the 2012 build should contact Carrie Bates, TechBridge's Director of Corporate Relations at [email protected].
