TechBridge Supporters Strengthen Community with Atlanta Habitat

7th Annual Technology Community Habitat for Humanity House Build with Atlanta Habitat

Atlanta-based TechBridge, a nonprofit dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to do more and serve more people, is pleased to announce the construction of its seventh Technology Habitat House, in partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Fourteen corporate sponsors have joined together to continue the annual tradition of building a new home for a qualified, working Atlanta family. Construction will begin on April 7, 2011, following the traditional First Nail Ceremony at the home's site in southeast Atlanta. A dedication ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011, to celebrate the project's completion.

Corporate sponsors of TechBridge's 2011 Technology Habitat House include: AGL Resources, CCCi, The Coca-Cola Company, Crimson Oak Consulting, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, GE Energy, iGate Corporation, InterContinental Hotels Group, Landis+Gyr, MDI Group, Pyramid Consulting, Southern Company, Synergis, and Teradata Corporation. Each of the 2011 sponsors also participated in the 2010 build, and many of them have sponsored the TechBridge Habitat project since the first build in 2005.

"One of my favorite things about being part of The Coca-Cola Company is our commitment and passion for being part of the local communities in which we operate," says Ed Steinike, VP & CIO, The Coca-Cola Company. "In fact, the Global IT organization participates with our business partners around the world in making a difference in local people's lives. I am very pleased we'll continue our partnership with TechBridge in Atlanta. Seeing our work come to life in the form of a home for an Atlanta family is very special."

Through the sponsorship program facilitated by TechBridge, the participating companies have contributed more than $75,000 to build the Technology Community Habitat House and will provide more than 280 volunteers needed to complete the project. The home will once again feature a new computer, desk, chair, supplies, and Microsoft software as a special gift to the new owners.

"TechBridge is honored to facilitate the annual Technology Community Habitat House build," said TechBridge CEO Kathleen Kurre. "This project is once again a tangible demonstration of the commitment and generosity of Atlanta's technology community."
