TEDxTimesSquare Explores Growth and Excellence Through Openness.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDx programs are local, self-organized, events which bring communities together to experience stimulating conversations. The theme for TEDxTimesSquare's inaugural event was openness.

TEDxTimesSquare held its' inaugural event at the Crossroads of the World on Wednesday, April 10th 2013, in The Times Center building.

TEDxTimesSquare was founded, produced, and co-organized by Randy Joy Epstein, CEO of Randy Joy & Co.

The event featured speakers from various professions who shared their experiences and inspired the audience while focusing on the conference theme - "Openness: Exploring the Limits and Possibilities of Open Culture."

TEDx conferences are independently organized events operated under a license from TEDx, to communicate ideas worth spreading. The events benefit communities while giving industry leaders a platform to share their passions with the world.

"TimesSquare is the center of the world" said Randy Joy, "so the vision was to bring all those worlds together" (from publishing, to science, to music and fashion amongst others), "to spread ideas and to make change a reality in the center of the world."

Diversity was evident in the event which attracted an audience of over 300 attendees and 2,500 live online streamers. Attendees were from all walks of life including law, start-up entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. They raved about the speeches and networked and discussed, in person and online, ideas raised at the conference.
