Teen Author Joins AAMBC & Write On Promotions For Holiday Book & Pajama Drive With Boys & Girls Club

Youth sci-fi author Stone Erickson bring the gift of reading to some special children

African American on the Move Book Club, Write on Promotions and Delphine Publications youngest author have teamed up to bring the gift of reading to some special children from the Tony Matthews Boys & Girls Club Cobb County, located at 785 Fontaine Rd, Austell, GA on Friday, December 14th from 5pm - 7pm. The literary forces have come together to raise over 1,000 gently used books, along with pajamas sets for the children to celebrate the holiday season.

Youth sci-fi author Stone Erickson is excited to participate in the holiday book drive, especially as it's his first appearance after signing a book deal with Delphine Publications on his fifteenth birthday. "I started reading because I was introduced to it when I was little. My Mom would read to me a lot and I had a friend who could read a lot faster than I could and he helped me learn to read better also," Stone Erickson remembers. Stone admits he is donating some of his favorite mystery and sci-fi series to the children at the Boys and Girls Club in hopes they will strike a chord with them just as they did with him years ago. The high school freshman says being able to encourage younger children to read and connect with books makes him feel good about his accomplishment. "Everyone can draw something out of reading. For kids it's a matter of finding the type of book you can connect with. The earlier kids start reading, the more they will enjoy it when they grow up." Stone Erickson hopes to continue encouraging kids to read the release of his first novel "Black Angel", the first in a newly introduced series slated for release in March 2013.

The Holiday Book Drive is being sponsored by the African American on the Move Book Club, Write on Promotions, Charm Kommunications, Urbania Magazine, Delphine Publications, Enchanted PR and Drama Baby. QSN photography will be there taking photos as Urbania Magazine will be conducting live author interviews during the duration of the drive. The public is welcome to attend this event.
