Teen Donates $15,000.00 to SPCA
Online, June 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Manika Ward donates $15,000.00 to Nevada SPCA
It was a year and a half ago, (almost 14 in dog years) that Manika Ward, now, 17 year old author of the children's book, "The Exciting Adventures of BOO", pledged to donate $15,000.00 to the SPCA from the sales of her book. She did just that live on TV Channel FOX5 on Monday, May 17, 2010 morning during a segment called, "Pet Pals", where a representative of the SPCA comes on every week with an adoptable pet to show the viewers.
Jennifer Palombi, who made regular appearances every Monday on Fox 5, now replaced by Kathy Jung was surprised as well as the early morning crew at this generous donation from Manika Ward.
Manika said, "I really love animals and I love what the NSPCA is doing so I was really happy to raise this money for them." as she handed over the check to Kathy Jung.
