Teich Garden Systems announced the opening of 10 Good Food Gardens at Boys & Girls Clubs across the country this past weekend. The 10 gardens, a joint undertaking of The Food Network and Comcast Communications, commemorate the 10th anniversary of Comcast Cares Day, in which thousands of Comcast employees, their families and friends volunteer to make a positive impact in neighborhoods across the country.

The Good Food Gardens, designed and installed by Teich Garden Systems, are at Boys & Girls Clubs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania., Baltimore, Maryland, Atlanta, Georgia, Denver, Colorado, Boston, Massachusetts, Chicago, Illinois, Houston, Texas, St. Paul, Minnesota, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Good Food Garden program is a joint effort of the Food Network, Share Our Strength and Teich Garden Systems and fashions educational gardens that offer children and community volunteers a fun, hands-on gardening experience. The mission of Good Food Gardens is to educate families on the importance of fruits, vegetables and other nutritious foods, key ingredients to ending childhood hunger.

Mark Teich, founder and CEO of Teich Garden Systems, stated "We are thrilled to have been a part of Comcast Cares Day for the second consecutive year. The TGS representatives at each of the 10 sites had a rewarding day working with the Comcast volunteers, the Boys & Girls club staff and Food Network representatives such as Bobby Flay, Alton Brown and Brook Johnson, Food Network President. I am so proud of TGS - the effort culminating in this weekend's openings demonstrates our unique ability to implement a corporate community outreach garden program on a nationwide basis and the results were spectacular."

Food Network has underwritten the creation of more than 30 Good Food Gardens across the country. Garden locations are determined based on community need, level of local advocacy and the extent to which the garden can improve the overall neighborhood.
