Telesystem Giving Back Through Charity at Cybersecurity Summit in Phoenix

Telesystem, a leading provider of nationwide managed technology solutions, will host a Cybersecurity Summit in Phoenix focused on educating businesses on how to plan for, prevent, manage, and recover from cyberattacks. The Summit will be held on April 13 at The Henry. As part of the event, Telesystem is working with the Tech4Change grassroots giving-as-a-service organization to support the greater Phoenix community by raising funds for AZ Cyber Initiative, a nonprofit helping Arizona students pursue degrees in IT and cybersecurity. Telesystem will also bring WWE Hall of Fame performer Jimmy Hart to meet and greet with attendees at the event.

Telesystem is inviting local business owners, executives, and IT leaders to register for this event that will educate them on the growing cyberthreat landscape and how they can protect both their employees and mission-critical assets. Attendees will arrive at 9:30 a.m. for a light breakfast and mimosas, followed by a can't-miss session with leading cybersecurity experts. Lunch will also be provided at the conclusion of the presentations. Brian Self, Ethical Hacker and Social Engineer, is the featured speaker at the summit and will share his firsthand hacking experiences from his 20-year career in information security and IT.

"As organizations move into the digital era and threat actors become more sophisticated in their attack methods, it is more important than ever to invest in the proper cybersecurity program," said Scott Chille, Senior Manager of Cybersecurity Consulting at Telesystem. "Businesses must realize that their organization's security posture should not be a matter of IF you get breached, but WHEN," he added.

Telesystem has partnered with Tech4Change to raise funds for Phoenix-based AZ Cyber to support opportunities for Arizona high school students to receive the inspiration, training, and support they require to pursue careers in cybersecurity and related IT fields, as well as donating scholarship funds for AZ Cyber's "IT Only Takes 1" scholarship foundation. Tech4Change is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization composed of technology providers that dedicate time and resources to aid grassroots charities across the U.S. Through event-based fundraising, Tech4Change provides game-changing donations that go directly to the cause rather than administrative costs. Telesystem will match every dollar donated to AZ Cyber by Cybersecurity Summit attendees, with the goal of raising $10,000.

"We look to embody our slogan every day, and in every way," said Telesystem Chief Revenue Officer Bruce Wirt. "IT is About Trust. Business owners and executives nationwide place their trust in Telesystem to keep them connected and protected.  These educational sessions are focused on helping businesses strengthen their cybersecurity position and strategy. We also have an organizational commitment to give back to the communities that support us. Being a strong supporter of local charities is incredibly important to us."

Seating for the event is limited, so guests are asked to register early. For those unable to attend in person on April 13, attendees can also register to join the event virtually. All attendees, in person or virtual, will have the ability to participate, ask questions, and be entered to win a new iPad Pro.
