Wilmington, NC, May 1, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Ten Pin Alley, Wilmington's premier bowling center, which completed a $1 million upgrade to their facility at the end of 2016, has announced it will host a $20,000 Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) tournament, the Wilmington Xtra Frame Open. The PBA national title tournament will be held May 26-29, 2017, at 127 S. College Road, Wilmington, North Carolina.
The tournament will feature a "Pro Am" on Friday night, May 26, where local bowlers can meet and bowl three games with the world’s top professional bowlers. Tournament qualifying will take place on May 27 -28 (Saturday and Sunday) with the finals on Monday, May 29. Spectators are welcome to attend for free or view it online with Xtra Frame.
“We are excited and proud to host the Wilmington Xtra Frame Open in our newly renovated facility,” says James and Margaret Grago, owners of Ten Pin Alley in a joint statement. “The event will be the first of its kind in the Wilmington area, and we encourage all those interested to come out and watch, or view it live online.”
The PBA has noted that this tournament is open to both PBA members and non-members, with entry priority based on the combined 2015-17 National/International Tour Money List updated after the Elias Cup PBA League Finals (April 16, 2017). The top 100 on the money list will receive priority entry until May 5, 2017. Beginning May 6, 2017, entry requests for available tournament spots will be confirmed for other PBA members on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry for non-members will be confirmed seven days prior to the event.
More information about the tournament is available on the Ten Pin Alley website, and those looking to enter the tournament can find more information on PBA.com.
