TERI UNIVERSITY Becomes One Of The Youngest Universities To Be Awarded Grade 'A' By NAAC

Online, May 3, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The TERI University was recently awarded an "A" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Higher education institutions are assessed and accredited by NAAC on seven criteria including curricular aspects; teaching-learning and evaluation; research, consultancy and extension; infrastructure and learning resources; student support and progression; governance and leadership; and, innovative practices. Grades awarded by NAAC are valid for five years.

Coming just after the award for 'Most Innovative Curriculum' by the India Today in 2012, the "A" rating only raises the bar for us."

The University is rapidly gaining recognition worldwide for its research and education in areas related to sustainable development, energy and environment. The research and teaching are organized around the central theme of how to provide for a rising population with limited, degraded and scarce natural resources. Teaching takes place via lectures, seminars and multimedia is extensively used to encourage interactivity and relevance. Research at the University is defined by the environmental/sustainability problems it addresses through science, policy/governance, and the social sciences.

The numbers of foreign students on campus rises each year, so a multi-cultural atmosphere prevails with Afghanistan, Nepal, Ethiopia, Mexico, Russia, being some of the countries represented.
