TERI University to Share Knowledge on Academic Research Publishing

Scheduled for the 8th of October, 2013 (Tuesday), the workshop has been organised around the theme of 'Optimizing the Potential and the Impact of Your Academic Research'. Attendees will be groomed in the art of writing a good research paper, and structuring it from the perspective of academic research publishing. The day-long workshop will be held at the TERI University Campus located at 10 Institutional Area, Vasant Kunj.

"This workshop is a capacity-building exercise, and will promote and develop high standards of academic research publishing," says Dr. Bharati Paliwal, the organizer of the workshop. "The idea is to create awareness and update the knowledge and skills of students, researchers and professionals, and make them aware of the publishing opportunities in scholarly journals. The focus of this workshop will be on scholarly research solutions, and use of statistics in research."

The day-long workshop at TERI University will begin at 9 AM on the morning of 8th October, and will conclude at 4 PM. The workshop is designed to address specific issues, such as: writing a good research paper, case studies; research quality, and problems related to research publishing.

"Speakers will focus on practical research methodology and how, in practice, a researcher should frame his research," says Dr. Prateek Sharma of TERI University, who will be dealing with the subject of 'Bench-marking the Quality of Research', in the opening session of the workshop. "The purpose is to bring the attendees up-to-date on latest researching techniques and presentation methods."

After Dr. Sharma's session, the workshop attendees will interact with Dr. Datta and Dr. Kaushik of TERI University on the subject- 'Research Ideation: Applicability and Contemporisation'. After lunch, Dr. Vinay Kumar Srivastava, Professor, University of Delhi, will be conducting a session dealing with the nuances of the case study method. This will be followed by Dr. Nandini Kumar's session on 'Academic Writing'. The concluding session will be a Panel Discussion that will be open to the house, and will address the queries of the attendees.

The workshop is open to students, scholars, researchers, academicians and scientists, as well as professionals from research laboratories and scientific organizations.
