Enerit are finalists of the Sustainable Energy Awards 2012.
Enerit were shortlisted for the Sustainable Energy Innovation Award which recognises pioneering activity in practical sustainable energy in Ireland.
Through on-going innovation in software development for systematic energy management over the past 8 years, Enerit have developed and delivered the first ISO 50001 software in the world. Our ISO 50001 software is being exported around the world.
Enerit ISO 50001 software: helps customers get ISO 50001 certification fast - 3 months; saves as much as 50% of time spent managing the energy system; and saves extra energy through automated action-tracking.
For the awards Enerit presented University College Cork's successful certification to ISO 50001 as an excellent example of the software's capability. UCC was the first public sector body in Ireland and the first university worldwide to be certified to the new ISO 50001 standard with the help of Enerit ISO 50001 software. This feat was achieved in just 3 months.
Notwithstanding this innovation, it was Tesco that took the prize for the success of its ambitious scheme to build sustainable, low energy stores to meet its carbon reduction commitments. Tesco is trialling new innovative Irish low energy technologies and low energy building methodologies in its flagship 'zero carbon' store in Cabra.
In the 12 months since opening the store's, energy consumption is operating as designed with 30% of the savings (compared to a standard store) coming from energy reduction technologies and 20% of the savings coming from low carbon technologies.
Other finalists in this category included Dawn Meats and Guinness Ireland (Diageo).
