Tharros Place Implements NewOrg Platform for Enhanced Residential Program Documentation

Efforts to prevent Human Trafficking benefit from a modern paperless data platform.

Human trafficking – the exploitation of another person for sex, labor, or services – is a global threat. In the United States, there are 1.5 million human trafficking victims, most of whom are children. Savannah, Georgia, is no exception, due to its high poverty rate, international port, booming tourism industry, and the crossroads of Highway 95 and I-16.

“With NewOrg, we are able to capture critical information, develop service plans, document daily progress, and upload and email sensitive documents to case managers, and in as paperless a way as possible. Staff can access the site from anywhere, which makes documenting seamless and convenient for all users. Having this powerful platform streamlines our processes and makes us as efficient and productive as possible.”

LaToya Scott, Residential Director

Tharros Place

Tharros Place, a 501(c)(3) that takes its name from the Greek word for courage, was created to fill a gap in services. In 2023, Tharros Place opened a 12-bed residential home to address underlying trauma and cultivate a culture of courage for girls ages 12 to 17.  For more information or to donate, visit tharrosplace.com.

Before adopting the NewOrg platform, Tharros struggled with a large volume of paper documentation, difficulty communicating with clients and families, and time-consuming tabulations for grant and administrative reporting.

In partnership with NewOrg Management System, Tharros Place has been able to dramatically streamline and enhance the management of documentation for its residential program. This strategic move greatly improves efficiency and ensures better service delivery to residents.

The NewOrg Platform enables Tharros Place to effectively manage and organize all documentation related to the residential program, providing a more cohesive and user-friendly system for staff. This implementation underscores the commitment to utilizing advanced technology to support Tharros Place’s mission and improve operations.

A few of the benefits realized:

  • The new system offers a secure, HIPAA-compliant solution for managing documentation from admission to discharge.
  • Features include individualized service plans at differing intervals.
  • Current census management for accurate tracking of resident population.
  • Progress notes for detailed resident care tracking.
  • Comprehensive treatment planning.
  • Secure electronic file sharing for digital waivers and signatures for clients and community service providers.
  • Efficient management of incident reports.
  • Streamlined process for handling external referrals.
  • Comprehensive and easy-to-use reporting.
