The 2010 Central West End (CWE) Window Walk Winners Announced

Online, January 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The 2010 Central West End (CWE) Window Walk announced today that Shelton Davis Antiques placed first for the Judges Award and Mary Jane's was selected as the top pick for the "People's Choice" award.

The competition portion of the Window Walk, which ran from December 4-18, was a contest among CWE storefront business owners, retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues to see who could create the best holiday window displays.

The 2010 CWE Window Walk winners include:
• 1st Place - Shelton Davis Antiques winning a cash prize of $750
• 2nd Place - Cassie's (www.cassiesscents.com) winning a cash prize of $500
• 3rd Place - Tie: Centro (www.centro-inc.com), and Sub Zero (www.subzerovodkabar.com) each winning a $250 cash prize.

Five "People's Choice" Awards were given to the public's favorite displays and each award winner received a $100 cash prize. Area residents and visitors cast their ballots while visiting the CWE during the two-week competition. The "People's Choice" winners include:

• Llywelyn's Pub (www.llywelynspub.com)
• Ivy Hill (www.ivyhillboutique.com)
• Centro (www.centro-inc.com)
• Audi-K's (www.audi-ks.com)

The 2010 CWE Window Walk was to celebrate the holiday season, encourage area residents and visitors to visit the CWE's boutique shops, fine dining and entertainment, and showcase the uniqueness of the historic CWE commercial business district.

The event is a project of The Central West End North Community Improvement District. More events to promote the CWE community are planned throughout 2011.

A panel of Celebrity Judges, well known local personalities, selected first-, second- and third-place winners. The judges included:
• Cindy Prost, Executive Director of the Arts & Education Council
• Paul Cook, Radio Personality on KYKY
• Michael Uthoff, Artistic and Executive Director, Dance St. Louis
• Bill McClellan, columnist, Post-Dispatch
• Steve Smith, president of architecture firm, Lawrence Group
• John Carney, Radio Personality on KMOX
