The AAMA Installs Natasha Geno, CMA (AAMA), ATS, as 2023-2025 Vice Speaker of the House
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., November 8, 2023 (Newswire.com) - The American Association of Medical Assistants® (AAMA) installed Natasha Geno, CMA (AAMA), ATS, as the 2023-2025 AAMA Vice Speaker of the House in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, at the 67th AAMA Annual Conference. In this capacity, Vice Speaker Geno, a resident of Lockbourne, Ohio, represents medical assistants and CMAs (AAMA)® across the nation.
Medical assisting is one of the nation’s careers growing much faster than the average for all occupations, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. Medical assistants work in outpatient healthcare settings. Employers are seeking and recruiting these allied health professionals because of their uniquely diverse clinical and administrative patient-centered training.
“As long as you’ve got passion [and] faith and are willing to work hard, you can do anything you want in this life,” says Geno.
Geno’s office is enriched by her extensive background, encompassing three years as a clinical medical assistant at the Teen and Pregnant Clinic and her current role as a program coordinator for the School-Based Asthma Therapy Program and the Diabetes and School Health Program, accumulating a total of 11 years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Geno has served in many capacities for the AAMA, including as a 2021-2023 AAMA Trustee. She has also served as a member of the Nominating Committee, Leadership Development Strategy Team, Endowment, Marketing Strategy Team and Awards Committee. She was previously Social Media Committee Chair and currently serves as the Documents Committee Chair.
“I am profoundly honored, humbled and enthusiastic to have been chosen as the recently appointed Vice Speaker of the House of Delegates, thanks to the influence and dedication of the AAMA organization,” adds Geno. “I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve the members, the [Board of Trustees] and the staff in establishing new standards for excellence on the national level. I would like to express my utmost respect and gratitude to all the leaders and members for their unwavering support.”
The Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)® — or CMA (AAMA) — credential represents a medical assistant who has been credentialed through the Certifying Board (CB) of the AAMA. The CB of the AAMA was awarded accreditation by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) under ISO/IEC Standard 17024:2012, the global benchmark for personnel certification bodies, thus distinguishing the CMA (AAMA) from all other medical assisting certifications.
