The America's Favorite Pet Competition Gives Back With $518K Donation to the PAWS Foundation
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 10, 2021 (Newswire.com) - The votes are in and America's Favorite Pet has announced the winners for 2021's favorite dog and favorite cat. Cole, a 9-year-old black cat rescue, and Raoh, a Blue French Bulldog pup, were awarded $5,000 each and will be featured in Catster and Dogster Magazine, respectively.
Cole's owner Chris Poole says, "Our plan is to donate the prize money to two local non-profits, The Runaways Animal Rescue and Chalky's Cat Crusade. My wife Jess is a board member with each rescue and they both help me out so much with cats and kittens that I've rescued off the streets."
In addition to crowning the two 2021 champs, the America's Favorite Pet competition was able to donate $518,064.57 to the PAWS Foundation — totaling over $800,000 since the first competition in 2020. The PAWS organization was founded in 1967 with the mission of helping cats, dogs, and wild animals go home and thrive.
The national competition was sponsored by Printy Pets, Crown & Paw™, FurBaby Socks, Okocat®, and Sad Puppy Face.
Pets from around the world were entered into the online voting competition and those with enough votes were able to progress through rounds, thanks to their families, friends, and supporters.
Pietro, Raoh's human, had this to say about dogs and the other competitors: "They are full of joy, happiness, and appreciation. They are always happy to see you and always ready to give you kisses. While only one can place first, they are all winners and all loved!"
America's Favorite Pet is looking forward to another exciting event next year. https://americasfavpet.com/ @americasfavoritepet
