The Atlanta Silverbacks Welcome Innovative Mind Group as First Community Partner
The Atlanta Silverbacks have looked to partner with Innovative Mind Group as their first community partner for the 2013 season. IMG is a youth sports agency that works with in schools and communities to help implement healthy lifestyle sports.
Online, October 25, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Atlanta Silverbacks, the city's only professional soccer team, has inked a deal with Innovative Mind Group (IMG) as its first community partner for the 2013 season. The partnership will allow the Silverbacks and IMG to work together to promote healthy living through youth sports, and reach many communities on a grassroots level.
The Silverbacks will be heavily integrated into the youth sports programs of IMG's clients, with a special focus being Silverbacks players running special training clinics for registered kids. The Silverbacks will make several player appearances over the course of the year and donate 150 tickets to IMG's youth sport partners for the team's 2013 season opener.
"I think it is very exciting that the Silverbacks have agreed to join us this year in our programs and marketing efforts," states David Kelly, Senior Marketing Director of IMG. "We will look to incorporate the Silverbacks in our programs and community, reaching out to those that may have never attended a Silverbacks game. Youth soccer is one of the most popular sports in our communities, so tying together youth and professional players is long awaited."
Starting in late November, all youth players registered under the IMG-represented soccer programs (Norcross, Cumming and Kennesaw) will be entered to randomly win a pair of Silverbacks tickets for the 2013 home opener and will be on the field to "high five" the Silverbacks players as the run onto the field to kick off the season. Paired with player training clinics, appearances and the grand prize giveaway of sideline season tickets at each location, the Silverbacks will look to strengthen their community ties in Gwinnett, Fulton and Cobb Counties with the youth program partnership.
The partnership of the Silverbacks and IMG will be publicly announced on Wednesday, November 14 at the party where the franchise will announce the results of their "Decision 2012" campaign. The event will finally let Atlanta soccer fans know if the Atlanta Silverbacks will keep the name its had since 1998 or if they will change the name back to the Atlanta Chiefs, Atlanta's first ever professional soccer club. The winner is chosen by voter participation via community voting events and online at www.AtlantaSilverbacks.com. Voting continues through the U.S. Presidential Election Day on November 6, and each voter is automatically entered to win a trip for two to New York City to see the team play against the New York Cosmos in 2013.
