The BQT Presents Its First Ever Ladies' Night (Tues., Sept. 6) with $300 Cash Jackpot and More

The Big Quiz Thing (BQT), NYC's live multimedia trivia spectacular, hosts its first ever Ladies' Night on Tues., Sept. 6 at the Highline Ballroom with a special opening act. Starts at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission: $9 for women, $13 for men

Having entertained thousands nationwide, The Big Quiz Thing (BQT))-hailed by The Huffington Post as "the best regular trivia competition that Manhattan has to offer"-now hosts its first Ladies' Night on Tuesday, September 6, at The Highline Ballroom, 431 West 16th Street (between Ninth and Tenth Avenues) in New York City, 8 p.m. Admission is $9 for women, $13 for men. Proving that acumen knows no gender, the BQT gives a six-round, multimedia shout-out to XX-chromosome trivia fans (while welcoming male fans, too), plus a cash jackpot of $300 and goodies from sponsors (including Babeland).

"The area's leading live game show" (The New Yorker), the Big Quiz Thing is the multimedia trivia show that you get to play! And for this event, Quizmaster Noah Tarnow-NYC's trivia authority-is crafting a special quiz on women in history, business, pop culture and more. Joined by DJ GB and sidekick-comedian Bex Schwartz, he'll present "The Best Actress Oscar Winner Quiz," "Scream, Singer, Scream!," "Suffragette City," and more-fun, funny and figureoutable trivia for all genders. Plus, as always, amusing wrong answers earn Smart-Ass Points, and the show's climactic Three-Way Finale (with game-show buzzers) will feature nothing but woman contestants. And as a bonus, the BQT welcomes a special-guest opening act, Last Comic Standing star (and erstwhile BQT sidekick) Claudia Cogan.

Come prove your love-and knowledge-for the fairer sex at the event The Onion called "way more than a middlebrow excuse to drink beer." In a culture of bite-size information and prepackaged wisdom, nothing is nobler than a live quiz show, and in the world of female-friendly trivia, absolutely nothing is better than The Big Quiz Thing.

Quiz me this...
Q: What is the only planet in our solar system named for a female figure?
Q: Name the actress: Cambodia, Ethiopia, Namibia, Vietnam, France, France.
Q: In the early 1990s, Kim Campbell became Canada's first female what?
Q: In 2010, the top five names for American girl babies all ended with what letter?
Q: What do these bands have in common: Talking Heads, the Pixies, Sonic Youth and Smashing Pumpkins?

About The Big Quiz Thing
Holding it down with a demeanor "somewhere between Alex Trebek and the ringmaster from Mad Max 3" (New York Press), Quizmaster Noah Tarnow founded the Big Quiz Thing in 2002, and it quickly earned a following at premier venues, including the Highline Ballroom, Le Poisson Rouge and Drom, and clubs nationwide. The Big Quiz Thing is the one event that no self-respecting trivia geek can afford to miss (perhaps literally), with serious cash at stake, along with excellent prizes and goodies from sponsors.
