The Bully Awareness Network and Dr. JJ Spinner Bring Hope to the Hopeless

In keeping with the mission of the Bully Awareness Network ("BAN") to end all forms of bullying in our community and nation inclusive of domestic violence, BAN is seeking to empower women

In keeping with the mission of the Bully Awareness Network (“BAN”) to end all forms of bullying in our community and nation inclusive of domestic violence,  BAN is seeking to empower women, who have been abused or have been victims of domestic violence, that there is hope after damaging relationships or situations that have left these women unsure or confused as to their purpose, bewildered as to whether anything good can come of their lives or afraid to think bigger or beyond their past. Oftentimes, these women are left without hope, faith or love for themselves.  BAN’s president, Dr. JJ Spinner, believes that part of circumventing many problems prevalent in the world is to ensure the wholeness and wellness of all people, especially women who, oftentimes, are really the backbone of society because of their purpose and the numerous roles that women play that interweaves our society together.

As a pre-launch to domestic violence month which is October, BAN is launching its Women’s Wellness Event and Benefits Concert that will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 5 P.M. at the Double Tree Hotel in Culver City, California.

The theme of this event is to bring hope to the hopeless and to empower women through messages of hope, healing, restoration and faith that their lives do not have to be defined by their past, and that the best is yet to come.  A portion of the monies raised at the event will be donated to the First Transitional Home in Los Angeles, which is a home that provides shelter and offers life skills classes to women of domestic violence. These transitional homes for women are important. According to the National Domestic Violence Organization, 1 out of 3 victims of domestic violence end of homeless because of nowhere to go.  BAN seeks to create more of these homes and expand its programming and services to provide classes and workshops that fosters reunification, vocational training, professional counseling, entrepreneurship and financial literacy, which would foster positive empowerment for women.

On September 20, 2015, BAN has connected with a number of persons who support the vision of the organization and this event and will be in attendance: Nekishia L. Spinner, Esq., who was noted as one of the top attorneys in South Florida and who is part of a program that teaches and helps women inmates how to become entrepreneurs and start businesses while they are incarcerated; Dr. Jewel Diamond Spinner, who will deliver a key note address that will deliver a power packed message that will activate and inspire women to move past the pain, heal, be restored and flourish; and other powerful speakers and  five star panel.

The evening will conclude with live performances by Miche’le, EnVogue and Lakeside. The attendees will be tickled by comedians, Lester Barrie and Trae Ireland. BAN will also play a special tribute to Tony Nichols, father of the Nichol’s Brothers and honor a number of persons who have demonstrated excellence in service to the community and/or the organization.
