How Often Should People Get a Mammogram?

Mammograms are required when a lump is discovered in one or more breasts. Doctors recommend that women who have had breast cancer appear in their immediate family get tested regularly between the ages of 40 and 50, and even earlier. Women should look for any change in the size and shape of their breasts, changes in the nipple such as redness or ulcers on the surface. Sometimes, the nipples can discharge liquid without squeezing them. That can also be a cause for concern.
