The Central Sarasota Farmer's Market in Sarasota, Florida, Adds New Vendor, Aloe Organics
Allison "Aloe" Nelson's Brave Legacy Benefits Cancer Patients Through Aloe Organics
Sarasota, FL, December 20, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Aloe Organics, a certified organic farm, has joined the growing list of vendors at the Central Sarasota Farmer's Market (CSFM), which meets every Saturday at the Sarasota County Technical Institute (SCTI) parking lot.
Aloe Organics is the brainchild and namesake of Allison “Aloe” Nelson, an attorney who was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer at age 28, two months away from marrying the love of her life, and who passed away in 2012 at the age of 31.
Prior to her passing, she set aside a portion of her family’s ranch to grow healthy produce for schools, hospitals, restaurants and grocery stores. In providing growing children, those who are ill and the general public with healthy food choices, she hoped to prevent the impact cancer’s devastating effects have on other families. In addition, a portion of the produce grown is donated to families with children battling cancer through the Center for Building Hope (CBH) in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
