The Chesterfield Brand launces unique collector's item
Online, August 2, 2010 (Newswire.com) - THE NETHERLANDS - The Chesterfield Brand, known from its robust buttoned leather furniture, introduces this autumn a unique Chesterfield Art project. Together with a group of Dutch artists, The Chesterfield Brand creates special editions of the well-known Chesterfield furniture.
The first art collection is called "Newspapers around the world by Chesterfield", Chesterfield chairs covered with pieces of real newspaper. With use of fifty different newspapers out of fifty different countries all around the world, fifty unique Chesterfield chairs will be created. Owner of the brand, Jodi Hoogeveen explains: "As a response to the mass production by large furniture shops, people nowadays desire to go back to authenticity. That's the reason why there is an increasing demand for unique objects to personalize our living environment. We want to respond to this trend with this playful art project. Every chair of the "Newspapers around the world" collection will be delivered with a numbered certificate. It's a real collector's item."
With the art project, the manufacturer of Chesterfield makes a statement. "Our vision is to integrate ancient craftsmanship into the modern living trends. We create the authentic English Chesterfield style, but with an edgy trendy twist. This art project is a good example, but also our exclusive Chesterfield silk collection, Chesterfield Diamonds and Electic Color Program," continues Hoogeveen.
The price of a unique "Newspapers around the world" chair is €9800,- including worldwide delivery. In the near future The Chesterfield Brand will come up with a second art collection.
