The Children's Center of Austin Holds Annual Fall Festival!

The Children's Center of Austin is holding their annual Fall Festival on October 20th. The Fall Festival is complete with a costume contest, carnival games, cotton candy, and a moon bounce. All community members are welcome to attend!

On October 29th, The Children's Center of Austin, a preschool and educational childcare facility, will be holding its annual Fall Festival. The Fall Festival will be complete with a costume contest, giveaway for free registration, cotton candy, spin art, and carnival games for children. Open to the public and free to attend; the annual Fall Festival gives children in the Austin community a chance show-off their costumes, make new friends, and win prizes.

Shlomit Avshalom, writer for Wholefamily.com and educator at the Waldorf School insists that ensuring children spend all of their time in structured activities stifles their creativity and can damage their burgeoning critical thinking abilities. Educators and parents alike need to give children space and opportunities to use their imagination as much as possible. Allowing children unstructured time to play encourages them to think creatively and learn to solve problems independently. Playing dress-up is one of many activities that help children develop a more active imagination. Avshalom persists that children should not be asked to view the world as adults, but that they should be allowed to be children and that that parents and educators have a responsibility to foster creative play and imagination.

This year's event will be held at each of the three schools from 6:30-8:30 pm.

"School is such a big part of our children's lives. They spend a lot of time with their teachers and classmates so it's really important to us as educators that we provide ample opportunities for them to play alongside their fellow classmates and families," said Julie Keen, Regional Director, The Children's Center of Austin. "The children that we care for and teach are excited to come to The Children's Center of Austin each day and we attribute this success in part to events like our Fall Festival."

About The Children's Center of Austin
The Children's Center of Austin is Austin's finest preschool and educational childcare facility committed to providing top quality care, education and extracurricular activities to children from infancy through pre-kindergarten, as well as after school care for kindergarten through fifth grade and summer camps for children ages five through eight. The organization prepares children for success in kindergarten through programs designed with age appropriate activities, focused on the developmental learning and social skill growth of each child. Family owned and operated in Central Texas since 1970, The Children's Center of Austin is a family-focused operation with an open door policy and a commitment to work closely with parents for the welfare of the whole family. With one of the lowest child to teacher ratios in Austin, The Children's Center of Austin's in-house developed curriculum is tailored to meet each child's individual development needs. Class size is the most important factor in education quality; therefore The Children's Center of Austin keeps pre-kindergarten class sizes four to six students smaller than most preschools. The Children's Center of Austin offers learning activities with separate classrooms and areas for art, gym, library and reading, computers, Spanish and a highly monitored and secure swimming pool. With curriculum designed to stimulate learning and promote social skills, children rotate through rooms and activities so are not confined to one room all day. Additionally, The Children's Center of Austin is the only preschool offering twice monthly field trips or in-house activities throughout the school year and daily field trips during its summer camp session. The Children's Center of Austin places strong emphasis on teacher training, providing its staff with opportunities for professional growth and development, including in-house training and participation in curriculum planning.

The Children's Center of Austin currently serves the Austin, Texas area with locations in Bee Caves, Jester and Steiner Ranch. Visit The Children's Center of Austin at www.childrenscenterofaustin.com.
