Standard GPS units relay this information on a display screen. The Smart Guide offers voice-recognition and voice-controlled operation. Also, it features a braille keypad for manual entry. The Smart Guide has built-in subsonic or radar-like capability to detect obstacles in the user's path. The automated voice issues a specific warning or route recommendation when needed. The Smart Guide can also be configured to detect the current state of street lights and their position along mass transit routes.”
