A new project was published on Dolnikoff.com web-site, where a team of industrial designers shared its experience in industrial design of housing for remote control for a TV/DVD-player. The Customer's company of the project was presented by the one under the brand Rubin, famous for its long history of the production of television technology.
The designers were entrusted with a task to design a convenient and cheap remote control, which could compete with its counterparts from Southeast Asia.
During the development the team of Dolnikoff.com designers presented several design concepts. As a result of it an optimal design solution was chosen, which differed from existing market analogs by the following features:
1. Usage of a single silicone keyboard (without additional blocks and details) to control both TV and DVD players allowed to make the construction cheaper and to reduce device cost price.
2. Central keys are set in a circle symmetrically. Symmetrical design of the remote control makes it easy to use both by right-handed and left-handed people.
3. The product appeared so cheap that the cost price in case of a 100,000 pcs lot was $1 apiece.
As a result of it the new remote control quickly got popular on the domestic market. For more than 8 years a remote control of the team Dolnikoff.com has been successful sold under such brands as Horizont, Vityaz and Rolsen.
