The Dojo of Karate Packs Powerful Punch With Successful First Year in Business
Online, October 7, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Westminster--October 7, 2009 - Inspiring a new generation to reap the benefits of Martial Arts in the Westminster and Broomfield areas, Javier Lozano, Jr., Owner and Head Instructor of The Dojo of Karate, is enthusiastic about reaching the first year milestone of opening the doors to his independent small business.
"My dream of starting a Karate school has finally materialized as the business is thriving after a year since we first opened and my students are realizing the great benefits of Martial Arts, both in the Karate school and in their everyday lives," Sensei Lozano said.
Javier, a Sport Karate World Champion Black Belt, opened his business August 11th, 2008 in the Willow Run Shopping Center on 128th and Zuni with only a handful of students enrolled. Now the Karate school, or "dojo" in Japanese, is thriving with over 75 students. The youngest students enjoy the "Lil' Ninjas" program for children as young as 4-years-old. Several of his original students in the Kids Program have progressed through the 5th belt rank, and recently earning their Purple Belts. This makes them just a couple years away from potentially earning a Black Belt in Wado Karate, the traditional Japanese art taught at The Dojo of Karate.
A large percentage of The Dojo of Karate's students are from surrounding elementary schools such as Meridian and Arapahoe Ridge. The Karate classes cater to this age group by incorporating high-energy exercises into the lessons through interactive games and drills. Beyond attaining increased strength, flexibility and balance, students are instilled with self-discipline, respect for others, perseverance and self-confidence through Mr. Lozano's training.
"It's rewarding to see my students harness the intangible value of Karate-greater self-confidence, discipline, respect for others and the ability to set a path to achieve personal goals with great determination. I hear from parents all the time that Karate has helped their child have better focus, behavior and performance in school," Javier said.
There are also several teens and adults who are moving up the ranks at The Dojo of Karate, and their classes incorporate more fitness, traditional Japanese Karate, and modern self-defense. In addition, The Dojo offers Fitness Kickboxing classes where students get to punch and kick a free standing bag for 45 minutes, all while sweating and learning self-defense.
To celebrate their one-year anniversary and kick off the "Back-To-School" season, The Dojo of Karate is offering a great promotion: '2 Weeks For $2'. New prospects interested in trying out Karate lessons during the school year can enroll in their Beginners Program for 2 weeks at just $2. But, call now to reserve your spot because The Dojo only has 30 slots available for new students.
In the coming year, Sensei Lozano plans to grow his school to approximately 150 active students and capping it at that number in order to continue to deliver premium Karate lessons to their clients.
"I want to be able to know all of my students by their first name, and make sure my classes are more personable and rich of valuable information" says Mr. Lozano, "This way my students will get more out of the lessons and feel like they are part of a larger family, instead of just another person at a school."
