The e-Learning for Kids Foundation Launches a Science Learning Portal With 213 Free Digital Lessons

Providing global access to free digital education for children aged 5-12

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the education of over 90% of the world's children and students. It has exacerbated already-existing inequalities and magnified the global learning crisis. The future of an entire generation is at risk (The Education Commission, 2020). But while education is clearly a victim of the pandemic, it is also the solution to the longer-term recovery.

In response, the e-Learning for Kids Foundation (EFK), a non-profit organization launched in the USA in 2004 and in the Netherlands in 2007, is thrilled to launch its new Science learning portal www.scienceworldforkids.org (or www.scienceworldforkids.com). The learning portal includes the entire Kindergarten to Grade 6 curricula of 213 courses (each 20-30 minutes) for children to learn Science in the context of different cultures and countries around the world. Lessons are based on International Baccalaureate (IB) standards that focus on teaching children to think critically and independently.

"Science teaches children to make observations, collect information and to use logical thinking to draw a conclusion. These skills are important for every part of our lives. Science education fuels that curiosity and provides children with valuable ideas, skills and potential future career choices," according to e-Learning for Kids founder Dr. Nick van Dam, Chief Learning Officer at IE University (Madrid) and former McKinsey Partner and Global Chief Learning Officer.

It has been a very exciting year for EFK as the foundation has also launched a Math curriculum (www.mathlearningforkids.org) that includes 336 free digital math lessons.

To date, more than 20 million children in over 100 countries have benefited from EFK's free lessons. EFK is excited about the large number of new kids, parents and teachers who have discovered its lessons in 2020.

Please share EFK's new learning portal with parents, teachers and schools around the world so that, together, we can reach even more children.
