The Four Seasons Hotel Co-Sponsors Performance to Benefit the 'Friends of Ratchaprasong' in Bangkok
Online, October 2, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, long a favored destination of Luxury Hotel Experts travel clients, recently co-sponsored a performance of H.E. Admiral M.L. Usni Pramoj's String Quartet to benefit the 'Friends of Ratchaprasong.' The quartet, which was performed by accomplished musicians of the Princess Galyani Institute of Music, was well received by its audience and the event was declared a resounding success.
An accomplished musician, Admiral M.L. Usni Pramoj began composing his first String Quartet in April of 2010 when Bangkok was facing its most serious turmoil in recent years. As his work on the music progressed, a story around the music began to emerge. The quartet's first movement is intended to portray Thailand's bucolic rural life, and is offset by the turbulence of the second movement, which depicts the red-shirted tide of demonstrators sweeping over Bangkok. The third movement is more somber, a depiction of grief for the nation's hurt, while the final movement becomes a message of hope. Rather than telling a story, it conveys the hope that Thais will re-unite to rebuild the nation and restore normalcy, that Thailand will once again be united in peace.
The gala evening began with a cocktail reception followed by the performance of the String Quartet in the Four Seasons Bangkok's Pimarnman Room. Following the concert, guests were served a four-course set-menu dinner.
