Online, September 28, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The FreeStyle Life, Inc. is pleased to announce its latest social initiative, partnering with non-profit organization The Voice Project to help aid peace and rebuilding efforts in the civil war-torn countries of Uganda and DR Congo. As one of the world's premier destinations for curated premium video, The FreeStyle Life will raise awareness for The Voice Project by spotlighting a series of music videos filmed exclusively for the charity organization that feature prominent musicians performing a cover of another musicians song.
Founded by Hunter Heaney, Chris Homes and Anna Gabriel, The Voice Project is on a mission to use music to bring child soldiers back to their homes in war-torn Uganda and DR Congo. The movement has captured the support of a wide variety of musicians including Peter Gabriel, Billy Bragg, Mike Mills, Andrew Bird, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and Broken Social Scene. With world renowned musicians covering songs by another artist of their choice, an organic music chain has grown and carried on from one artist to another, all to further the The Voice Project's mission to amplify peace by spreading the messages in artists' songs and to facilitate social change by economically empowering devastated communities.
The FreeStyle Life is now calling all music fans, humanitarians, musicians and artists to amplify peace by donating to The Voice Project and spread the word by sharing these songs within their favorite social media networks. The FreeStyle Life will be featuring The Voice Project throughout its platform and as the featured charity on TheFreeStyleLife.com's SUPPORT PAGE. The premium platform will also be looking to create custom advertising, along with innovative branding for the project. The videos will be featured on TheFreeStyleLife.com, The FreeStyle Life's YouTube Channel, and will be promoted through its social media outlets and channels.
Tommy Swanhaus, CEO & Founder of TheFreeStyleLife.com said "Our goal is to help The Voice Project land a big name sponsor for the series as their current accomplishments have been driven mainly by individual donations." Despite having very limited resources, The Voice Project has been a huge success. Along with the help of the non-profit group Invisible Children, The Voice Project has not only funded the construction of several FM radio stations in Uganda and brought stability to local communities, it has also garnered UN support. Swanhaus said, "We have seen how with limited resources they are making a difference, now we need to amplify their cause globally through the help of corporate sponsorships, increasing individual contributions, and raising overall awareness."
