THE GATHERING, A Global Event For Personal And Planetary Enlightenment - Announcing The Music

Online, February 29, 2012 (Newswire.com) - World renowned teachers, healers and musicians join together in one location from July 27 to August 2, 2012. They gather from all traditions for the most transformational time in history to provide unprecedented and enlightened teachings through guidance and sound to as many as 100,000 people desiring to open their consciousness and truly awaken.

A soundscape will be provided at The Gathering by world-class musicians and vocalists. For 7 days, music from all over the planet will be played by those who have already brought inspiration to so many. A wide variety of traditions will be expressed in this Spiritual Woodstock including kirtan, dance, chanting, crystal singing bowls and gongs, classical Indian and world music. Music will be interwoven with the master teachings in order to assist those in the process of awakening to maintain a heightened vibration. Throughout the week the many musicians will offer spontaneous tapestries of music and solo performances. We are honored to announce the addition of the following musicians from around the world:

· G.S. Sachdev, who has few equals amongst living classical flutists. It was through his efforts that the Bansuri flute has become a respected instrument in the West.

· Geoffrey Gordon brings traditional kirtan and dance as an accomplished composer, musician and producer who has recorded over 80 beloved and popular CD's with many famous artists.

· Shanti Shivani offers her famous Dhrupad vocals, the most ancient style of Hindustani classical music originally only sung by priests within the temples.

· Dave Stringer has been widely profiled in publications all over the world as one of the most innovative artists of the new Kirtan movement.

· Prem Joshua, a pioneer extraordinaire in the field of World Fusion Music who has played privately for the President of Malaysia, the prime minister of India, and Prince Edward at the Royal Palace in London and who also received the "Best Film Music on Indian" in Mumbai.

This one-time assembly of musicians takes place at The Gathering held in concert with world-renowned master teachers. Ticket prices vary to make them accessible for every budget. Different price levels allow purchasers to choose how they want to experience The Gathering.
