The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Online, January 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the latest release by Columbia Pictures and is precisely based on a novel by a Swedish author Stieg Larsson who is also a journalist. The book is the first in the trilogy named "Millennium series". The book is set against the theme of violence against women. The author himself was a witness to a 15 year old being gang raped. The author thus suffered from the guilt of being unable to save the girl.

The plot of the film starts with a financial reporter named Mikael Blomkvist who is trying to overcome the trauma after committing a censorious act in the written nature. He later goes on to be engaged to write the family history of Henrik Vanger - a Swedish top notch industrialist. Henrik is plagued by the disappearance of his niece named Harriet, who Vanger believes was murdered by a member of his family.

For the sake of the assignment, Mikael moves to a remote island north of Sweden. Soon he is drawn into a series of revelations that the rich and powerful indulge in, only to meet the most unlikely ally - the girl with a golden tattoo, with great computing skills - Lisbeth Salander.

Lisbeth works with Milton Security, and seems acutely hostile to most of people around her. She appears more to be a warning with lots of tattoos and piercings on her body. No one knows what lies beneath those dark made up eyes, until she is assigned to investigate Mikael; but ends up joining Mikael in his assignment of finding out who killed Harriet Vanger.

They both eventually find out that Martin Vanger, Henrik's grandson killed his own sister, who like he should says that he dint. He is actually a serial killer who has ended the lives of a number of women. Soon the story takes new turn to be found out by viewers.
