The Great Walk - for World Vision
Online, June 2, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Great Walk is a 62 km route following the winding logging road between Gold River and Tahsis, B.C., passing mountains and streams. Known as the toughest pledge walk in North America, this year's event has over 150 adventurers registered. The runners and walkers will depart next Saturday before the sun rises at 4 a.m. and have 16 1/2 hours to complete their journey.
Cpl Sargeant plans to run/walk the distance, and hopes to be done in less than 8 hours. Pte Milne's goal is to finish within 10 hours of the The Great Walk's maximum allotted time frame. They both have been training since February in and around Comox.
