THE JESSE JAMES HEIST DELIVERS A TRAINLOAD OF OPPORTUNITY
Driggs, Idaho
"What's going on?" was the question of the day by onlookers as people continued to arrive for the Jesse James Heist, August 15 at Snow Crest Ranch, just eight miles north of Driggs, Idaho.
As the changes in the economy surfaced in the Teton Valley, property sales and morale took a steady decline. Unwilling to allow the situation in the Valley to deviate him from plans to develop his properties and the community, Bill Fieldstead, Owner/Developer of Snow Crest Ranch and Highlands Ranch, took action. He started by building an offer of unprecedented nature: purchase the homesite of your choice on either property for a significantly discounted rate and receive an amenity package, too good to turn down. With offer in hand, Bill hired
a full-service marketing agency out of Billings, Montana to get the word out. Thus, the Jesse James Heist was born, complete with banners, event tents, tradeshow displays, high-level sales staff and cowboy hats.
The goal of the Heist was to eliminate the traditional method of selling property, full of skepticism and haggling and replace it with an event that was unconventional, fun, relaxed and honest. It was a "straight-shooter sale and the time to steal the diamond is now!" stated the invitation.
This was not an unloading of property. According to Bill, now is the time to reset the value paradigm for property in the valley. The buyers will establish the value during the event and everyone will ride the upward momentum for years to come.
"The value begins here, right now." Said Bill Fieldstead. "We're all going back to what's real and not contrived from a year ago. It may not be easy to swallow, but it's our departure point for the future. Sooner or later, everyone is going to have to climb on, or forever stay on the sidelines".
The Heist was a success. Homesites were sold and, more importantly, the event brought about conversations that will ultimately breath new life into home sales and the future of the Valley.
"I've been to a lot of sales and auctions and this was nothing like I'd seen. It was professionally done, a fun atmosphere and everyone who showed up was interested in buying". Said Ken Chambers, local auctioneer and property owner. "It was encouraging to see people from as far as New Hampshire participating to buy a homesite. This could be the turning point for the Teton Valley."
In fact, the Jesse James Heist caused such a stir that other participants have joined the event making the "Diamond" even larger. To keep the momentum going, a second event has just been announced and is expected to far surpass the first. New properties have been added, financing packages are available and additional amenities have been included to boost the already stellar offer. There is a deal to be had here if you are able to catch the train.
The Teton Valley is a place where most people only dream of owning property and the changes in the economy have made it possible for those sitting on the sidelines to actually join the game. If your passion is the outdoors, fishing, skiing, hunting, capital preservation, exclusivity, land conservation, or simply a vacation home with breathtaking views, this is an opportunity that deserves consideration. The Jesse James Heist is on track change the history of the
Teton Valley forever.
