The Increase In Used Car Sales In Norwich Since The Recession

There has never been a better time to buy a used car.

In the recent financial crisis, there has been a substantial rise in the used car market. Online researchers have noted that according to Google Insights there has been a sharp increase in people searching for the keyword 'Used Cars' and 'Used Cars for Sale' over the last four years.

The increase in search trends for keywords around 'used cars' was replicated accross all regions in the United Kindom. However, one region saw a dramatic rise. Norfolk, and in particular, the city of Norwich, had one of the highest numbers of searches. While at first glance this might not seem great news for car dealerships looking to sell new cars - the used car market can still be relatively profitable.

A spokesperson from Dingles Motors Group, in Norwich, said "before the recession, it was far more common for people to be buying new cars every year - since then we have seen a lot more interest in used cars for sale in Norwich."

They went on to say "the financial crisis has been very hard for everyone, partically the motor trade, however, we are now coming out the other side and the increased sales of used cars year on year has really helped us."

Considering Norwich is not a large city in itself, this a somewhat of a surprise - and shows that people are still looking to change their vehicle, even if it isn't for a brand new one.

According to Google insights the peak time for used car sales is in the first quarter of the year. Their software forecasts that this will be the case again next year. Especially with little sign of the UK's economy improving.
