The Inn at Honey Run Announces "Honeycombs for Honey Bees"

Amish Country hotel pledges to donate honey bee kits to during September

To celebrate National Honey Bee Day on August 16, The Inn at Honey Run has announced a new promotion for the month of September: “Honeycombs for Honey Bees.” The boutique hotel in Amish Country has pledged to donate a honey bee kit for each stay in one of their earth-sheltered Honeycomb rooms during the month of September.

Each honey bee kit will provide a family in a developing nation with everything they need to raise honey bees to improve the success of their crops and provide additional income from honey. The honey bee kits will be donated through a nonprofit organization.

"We grow bee and pollinator-friendly plants in many of our gardens because they play an essential role in local agriculture. We hope to help raise awareness about the importance of honey bees, both as a livelihood for impoverished families and as a part of our own food system."

Jason Nies, Proprietor of The Inn at Honey Run

The donation is spurred by the hotel’s own affinity for honey bees and other insect pollinators. “We grow bee and pollinator-friendly plants in many of our gardens because they play an essential role in local agriculture,” said Jason Nies, owner of The Inn at Honey Run. “We hope to help raise awareness about the importance of honey bees, both as a livelihood for impoverished families and as a part of our own food system."

The Inn at Honey Run has set a goal of 100 honey bee kits to be donated at the end of September. To book a stay and participate in The Inn at Honey Run’s Honeycombs for Honeybees event, visit www.innathoneyrun.com or call 330-674-0011.
