The Inverness Hotel Appoints Linda McGill To Director Of Human Resources

Industry veteran brings 16 years of experience recruiting and training Colorado's best hospitality talent

A hotel is only as good as its staff. As hotels jockey to strengthen employee and guest loyalty, The Inverness Hotel has recruited one of Colorado's most accomplished human resource figures, Linda McGill, to re-energize the hotel's recruitment, retention and employee training efforts. A 30-year HR veteran, with 16 years on the Front Range, McGill brings an impressive track record for helping hotels develop and nurture their most valuable asset - their employees - as a means to capture guest loyalty. While The Inverness Hotel has many employees that have been with the company for upwards of 20 years, McGill's fresh approach will introduce new ways to reward loyal staff and give new staff more reasons to extend their career with The Inverness Hotel.

In this new position, McGill will oversee all HR functions for the hotel, but will primarily focus on employee training, recruitment and retention efforts. She will build upon existing human resource programs and add-on complementary programs to re-energize customer service initiatives, facilitate the adult learning process, develop new employee goals/metrics and maintain the hotel's premiere reputation as a fair and equal opportunity employer. McGill, in partnership with The Inverness Hotel's parent company, Destination Hotels & Resorts, will also introduce the Pillars program at the hotel, an employee training program focused on taking care of the guest and positively impacting their guest experience. It is through programs and efforts like these that McGill hopes to motivate staff at all levels and help cultivate a work culture focused on excellence, customer service, and team work.

"Linda brings the ideal combination of experience, vision and desire needed to positively impact the lives of our 330 employees," said George Fischer, managing director at The Inverness Hotel. "Under her direction, I am confident she will take our employee efforts to new heights and give everyone an inspired new reason to come to work."

Prior to joining The Inverness Hotel, McGill was Director of Talent Acquisition at Dallas-based Aspen Rain Associates, where she provided executive level recruiting for full service hotels and resorts. For nearly two years, she was Vice President of Human Resources at Stonebridge Companies in Denver. In this capacity, she supported the company's portfolio of 38 branded, select and full service hotels spearheading improved medical benefits for 1,500 associates, managing leadership training and development, assisting in hotel acquisitions and recruiting and hiring more than 80 hotel executive level and corporate staff. She was Corporate Director of Human Resources at RockResorts and Vail Resorts Lodging Company and held various hospitality positions with Marriott International, including Director of Human Resources, Director of Catering, Payroll Manger and Marriott Education Services Director, during a 20-year career with the company.
