Irvine, CA - June 2, 2010 - In honor of its 25th Anniversary, the Irvine Health Foundation ("IHF"), is soliciting nominations for the first ever Irvine Health Foundation Prize. Nominations are being solicited to identify nonprofit organizations demonstrating extraordinary success, creativity and innovation in one or more of the following areas: promoting health and wellness, insuring the availability of accessible, quality health-related services, working in the area of health policy, and supporting research designed to develop new knowledge in areas related to health. IHF welcomes nominations of providers of "safety net" services to residents of Orange County.

The Irvine Health Foundation prize was created by the IHF Board of Directors to recognize and honor an organization that best exhibits the ability to improve the health of the residents of Orange County, California. In addition to the prize, the recipient organization will receive an unrestricted, one time grant of $150,000 from IHF. The Irvine Health Foundation will also award two honorable mention prizes in the amount of $50,000 each. The Irvine Health Foundation Prize represents people touched, lives changed and lives saved over the 25-year history of IHF. It is a celebration and acknowledgement of the people and organizations working to improve the health of our community.

Nomination forms and guidelines will be available on Irvine Health Foundation's website (www.ihf.org) beginning June 21, 2010. Self nominations will be accepted. Nominations may only be submitted electronically. Nomination forms must be completed and received by IHF no later than midnight July 31, 2010. Nominees must be classified as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
