The Virtual Web Platform version 1.0.2 has been officially released. It is a web-based application platform which was single-handedly created and developed by Ralph Ritoch, an independent freelance web developer.

The Virtual Web Platform comes with a Content Management System and features which create a Virtual web-based operating system featuring a highly advanced configuration and an easy to customize front-end design. It is specifically structured for building business management systems.

None of the existing frameworks in the market offer the extensive XML processing features provided by The Virtual Web Platform. XML is a data format that can be perfectly read with almost any XML viewer, thus making it more beneficial to use over HTML. Popular "web services" sites like Twitter, Facebook and Paypal are taking advantage of the XML technology especially those companies that render business to business solutions.

The Virtual Web Platform is capable of producing XML applications which are accessible from a web browser utilizing a unique dynamic XSLT technology responsible for converting dynamically generated XML into interactive pages. The system also makes use of XML technologies to provide database-independent applications which can utilize data from multiple SQL-based database systems or middleware services.

The latest version ensures enhanced features businesses demand. Additional URL processing has been added for companies requiring advanced search engine optimization. This version also provides an event-driven search capability which is integrated with the CMS application for easy site-wide searches and the capability for integrating results from multiple search providers. New database access features have also been added to simplify the development of reporting systems. The most outstanding feature of this release is a new WSDL (Web Service Description Language) based Web API access system making it much easier to consume web services such as those provided by Twitter. Some minor extensions were added to the WSDL version 1.1 format to access a wider range of services than the original WSDL version 1.1 format is capable of providing.

This technology seems to have been released before its time. The current application does not provide multiple features for users, and has clearly been designed for developers. With the large number of high-tech features, it is possible that we will see a number of new applications popping up on the internet in the near future which will require the Virtual Web Platform. This is a technology which may be worth keeping an eye on.
