The Murder Mystery Returns to Apple Holler...I Love Lucy Style

Red Barn guests asked and Apple Holler listened. The murder mystery is returning to Apple Holler with the hilarious and nostalgic, Trouble at the Tropicabana - An "I Love Lucy" Murder Mystery Spoof. Trouble at the Tropicabana opens May 19th.

Apple Holler's Red Barn Theatre always means great food and great fun, and Trouble at the Tropicabana is no exception. Guests will enjoy a delicious themed meal as their audience participation; murder mystery experience begins with some of the show's colorful characters mingling with the audience. Sit back and chat with Lucy or Ricky. For those budding actors or actresses out there, impress movie mogul heiress, Celia B. DeMilo, and perhaps be cast for the night as one of the show's eclectic personalities.

"Murder Mysteries were a big hit at Apple Holler when the Red Barn Theatre first began presenting them almost twenty years ago," says Apple Holler Entertainment Director, Heather Clayton. "It's been nearly two years since we have presented one of our interactive murder mysteries, so we thought it was time to bring back an audience favorite. The humor and nostalgia of "I Love Lucy" mixed with the intriguing fun of a murder mystery stood out to me as a sure-to-be-favorite for audiences of all ages."

The action really begins after the meal, when guests witness a murder; then go back in time and become part of the action as the events preceding the murder are revealed before their very eyes. Clues will be dropped and suspicions will arise as the list of potential suspects grows and the plot thickens. It is up to the audience to figure who the real killer is as they ponder the evidence over a mouth-watering dessert. With multiple conclusions to the story as well as ever-changing audience cast members, no two shows will be exactly the same and will be sure to have audiences on the edge of their seats, rolling in the aisles and dancing the night away.

Lucy will be played by the very talented, Tammy Zeller; a Red Barn regular, who has been delighting audiences at Apple Holler for over four years. The role of Ricky will be brought to life by the energetic, Joaquin Hernandez; another Red Barn favorite, as well as by new-comer Matthew Walton, who will share the role with Hernandez, performing for daytime audiences. Walton is junior at UWM; majoring in theatre. Completing the cast is the local celebrity, Lori Minneti; Apple Holler Entertainment Director, Heather Clayton; another very talented new-comer to the Red Barn stage, Rich Morales; and stage managers Mariah Schmidt and Riley Flannery will also be donning colorful costumes as they share a cameo role.
