The Narberth Garden Tour Showcases Beautiful Local Landscapes
Online, June 8, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Narberth Garden Tour will take place this Sunday, June 12th from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. This annual event gives regional garden enthusiasts a unique opportunity to glimpse some of Narberth's hidden landscapes while raising funds for the Narberth Community Library, where the tour will begin and end.
Garden tour organizer Dee Welge remarks, "Narberth is a wonderful, walkable community and perfect for a tour like this. It's really a small town surrounded by suburbia, so front yard gardens are quite visible to the public while back gardens are hidden from view and contain great surprises."
The self-guided tour, which will be held rain or shine, includes 10 local homes and features a wide variety of plantings and design styles. It wraps up with a reception and plant sale at the library at 5pm.
The tour is an important fundraising event for the library, providing support for collection purchases and ongoing programming, such as the "One World, Many Stories" summer reading program, the Mango foreign language and ESL software, and the Universal Class continuing education courses.
Tickets can be purchased at the Narberth Community Library (80 Windsor Ave.) or online at http://nar.mclinc.org. They are $18 in advance and $22 on the day of the event.
