The Nebraska Medical Center Selects Digisonics Cardiovascular Information System as Enterprise Solution
Online, February 23, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. will implement the Digisonics cardiovascular information system (CVIS) as their enterprise solution for echo and nuclear structured reporting for this first phase. The Digisonics CVIS provides the facility with a comprehensive clinical database, high-powered PACS and structured cardiology reporting in one complete system. Portability and access is essential for today's cardiologists and the facility will utilize Digisonics' newest application, WebView 4.0. This application provides users with zero footprint image review from any HTML5 capable browser or device. There is no need for ActiveX or other plugins and no patient health information is retained on the viewing device.
The Nebraska Medical Center will also implement the Digisonics Search Package, a comprehensive, user-configurable search engine for their echo and nuclear studies. This powerful tool enables users to quickly set up search criteria to extract clinical information from their cardiovascular information system database for research purposes, compile statistics required for accreditation and generate management reports to target areas for improvement.
HL7 interfaces between the hospital's EPIC system and the Digisonics cardiovascular information system will facilitate a fully electronic workflow. A DigiLink add-on to the HL7 Results Out interface provides their clinicians with access to PDFs of the finalized cardiovascular reports within their EMR. DICOM Modality Worklist will automate transfer of patient demographics to the facility's imaging modalities, creating a list of scheduled patient studies and significantly reducing manual data entry time. As a result of the interoperability between systems, The Nebraska Medical Center and its affiliates will enjoy a seamless, fully electronic workflow, saving time, reducing errors and improving provider and referring relationships.
