A 22 year old single mother is facing the prospect of losing her life long belongings and those of her parents over a disputed account with shipping giants MSC. The personal effects of her family with which she had been entrusted are now sitting in a warehouse in the Bahamas awaiting a public auction in early November to dispose of her things, those that are not sold will be destroyed.

The situation arose after Miss Meagan Smith employed a shipping company to move her belongings to the Bahamas where she was going to live with her then fiance last year. The relationship broke down after Miss Smith found that her fiance was using the Internet to meet other women online.

Unfortunately by then the containers with her belongings in had been shipped to Freeport in the Bahamas and were now also clocking up charges known as demurrage, add to this the company Miss Smith had employed originally failed to pay the main shipping company MSC and now it is MSC who are putting her belongings to auction.
Miss Smith said, "This is a desperate situation, I cannot face the prospect of losing all of my things, there are photo's and sentimental items that are totally irreplaceable".

The bill has escalated to over $250,000, however MSC offered to accept just under $30,000 which is still an impossible amount for Miss Smith to pay, considering Miss Smith had already paid the rogue shipper that failed to pay MSC.

Miss Smith has sent a plea to the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Mr Hubert Ingraham, however as at the time of writing this plea has not been replied to. "I feel totally powerless, I don't know who can help me at this time", said Miss Smith.
Any offers of help would be more than appreciated
