The Patent Pending Ultra Warm Coat/Jacket was invented by Victor During of Santa Clarita, CA, who said, “What sets the Ultra Warm Coat/Jacket apart from standard garments is found in its heating source. Each has a padded heating element, sewn throughout the lining of the unit. The heat can involve converting electricity into heat through the process of Joule heating. Electric current through the element encounters resistance, resulting in heating of the element. Most heating elements use insulated carbon fiber, Nichrome wire or ribbon as the conductor. Nichrome is an ideal material, as it is inexpensive, has relatively high resistance, and does not break down or oxidize in air in its useful temperature range.”

The inventor added, “The temperature range and distribution are adjusted with a handy, dial-based rheostat located within the breast of the coat itself. The heating source can be powered by an easily accessed, internal, plated battery source, which is located within the waist lining of the jacket.”
