About King Nitty:

King Nitty, born Ollie Jean Johnson Jr., was raised on the south side of Chicago where selling drugs and gang banging were the normal way of life. The course of his life changed when he and his family were sent to live in one of Chicago's most notorious housing projects Cabrini Green following his mother's incarceration. At the age of fifteen, music became his therapy after the tragic death of his father from drug abuse. Writing about everything from hard times to uplifting revolutions he realized his gift to unleash his soul on paper. He released his first solo album resulting in over 5,000 units sold. Now owning Millpond Studios, he has transformed his company into Chicago's premier independent label working towards creating his own manufacturing and distributing empire.
