The Opening Of The View From The Shard on 1 February 2013 Is All Set, Entry Tickets Sold Out Weeks Before The Big Day

The opening of The View from The Shard will be on 1 February 2013 and entry tickets are already sold out as visitors and Londoners alike are excited to visit the newest attraction in the UK's capital.

A series of astonishing pictures photographed from The View From the Shard have been released by developer Sellar Property Group and London Bridge Quarter in preparation for the building's opening on 1 February 2013. As expected, plenty of people are eager to have a view of London from the UK's highest skyscraper given the fact that all the tickets have already been sold out.

Also called the Shard London Bridge and Shard of Glass, the building was designed by famed Italian architect Renzo Piano.

Visitors will have a panoramic view of the capital as they take two lifts going to levels 68 to 72 where viewing area is partly open.

The designer states, "London is a city of inspiration and imagination. When we designed The Shard, a viewing gallery was part of our thinking right from the start." Not only did he design the exterior, but he also contributed to the internal exhibition.

Being at level 72 would be the peak of the experience as locals and visitors will see the city while standing from the platform.

The thrill starts from the ground floor galleries showcasing famous Londoners on the walls and murals to amuse the tourists as they go through security.

Along with the pieces of artwork, animated maps, and video screens will be placed to depict the lesser-known facts about London and a historical background of the London Bridge, as they walk to the lifts on their way to the platform.

The state-of-the-art lifts, which travel at 6m per second and designed by Kone, will take the viewers from levels 00 to 68 in just one minute. Adding to the effect is the feeling of going up through familiar ceilings of London like the dome of St. Peter's Cathedral, the British Museum's Great Court glass roof and the spiral staircase at Monument. This will be made possible by the video screens situated in the ceiling of the lift systems.

There will be a short stop at level 33 to further educate visitors through a space designed with graffiti before being taken up to the main platform.

In the viewing area, visitors can look through special telescopes know as Tell:scopes, for free. Information about the 200 renowned landmarks will be in 10 languages.

In this experience, London will be seen in a 360-degree view spanning to 40 miles, definitely making The View From the Shard a starting point to explore the UK's capital.
