The Pledge 5 Foundation Combines Fun and Service this Halloween

The Pledge 5 Foundation has organized a blood drive, a Vampires' Ball, and the Run for Your Life 5K to collect blood donations and raise awareness for LifeSouth Community Blood Centers.

GAINESVILLE, FL
Next week the Pledge 5 Foundation will begin a series of events comprising its annual Pledge 5 Foundation and LifeSouth Vampire's Blood Drive. The blood drive will begin on October 15th and end the 29th to raise awareness of the need for blood donations for LifeSouth Community Blood Centers at various locations. The two week-long push will conclude with a celebratory night at Sharab Lounge on October 29th at 10 p.m., appropriately dubbed the Vampires' Ball. On the following Sunday, October 31st, residents and students who have donated or pledged to donate blood will partake in the Run for Your Life 5K. The race will send the participants through and around the University of Florida campus and runners are encouraged to dress up in their best costume in the spirit of Halloween.
The overall focus of the week is to encourage local students and community members to realize the importance of giving blood. As said by Kate Morrison, Executive Director of the Pledge 5 Foundation, "Pledge 5 aims to motivate others to uphold our mission statement, which is to 'transform awareness into action."
