The Pond Guy®'s 7th Annual Parade of Ponds
The Pond Guy®'s 7th Annual Parade of Ponds Tour benefits Leader Dogs for the Blind. This year was the largest tour to date and was a huge success. There were 24 ponds in Oakland, St. Clair and Macomb counties in the Blue Water area of Michigan.
Online, July 23, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Pond Guy®'s 7th Annual Parade of Ponds was an absolute success with the largest tour to date featuring 24 ponds located in Oakland, St. Clair and Macomb counties in the Blue Water area of Michigan. Each year hundreds of people take the self-guided tour which runs through two consecutive days (rain or shine) and evenings. This year the attendees of the Parade of Ponds event enjoyed beautiful weather on Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th. Saturday, proud pond owners got to show off their evening lights. The creativity and hospitality of the pond owners is a unique and amazing experience.
The Parade of Ponds features water gardens that have been professionally designed and built by local landscape companies and the do-it-yourselfers that use THE POND GUY®'S products.
For the third year in a row this year's proceeds benefited Leader Dogs for the Blind. "We chose the Leader Dogs for the Blind to benefit from the tour because of their dedication to improving quality of life," explains The Pond Guy® owner, Jason Blake, "Water gardens are enjoyed for many different reasons but one of the most enjoyable experiences is the relaxing sound of moving water." Tickets are free of charge but all donations benefited Leader Dogs for the Blind. This year The Pond Guy® is matching the first $2,500 in donations dollar for dollar. The Pond Guy® will continue to match donations up to $2,500 for the Leader Dogs for the Blind through August 31st.
Blake notes that water gardens are a dramatic yet flexible feature that fit well into any type of landscape plan or lot size. Gardens on the tour may cover most of the property with large ponds and meandering streams or be as small as 4-feet by 4-feet.
