The Positive Internet Company and Hurricane Electric Partner for Increased Global Connectivity to UK Locations
LONDON, July 24, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Positive and HE's first joint deployment successfully launched on July 20 at Positive's London Point of Presence, offering onward connections to Positive's wholly-owned green data campus, Positive Park, and Positive's other UK PoPs.
Hurricane Electric is connected to over 250 major exchange points on six continents and exchanges traffic directly with more than 8,000 different networks, enhancing Positive's existing high-capacity UK network with new levels of connectivity, lower latency, and higher throughput.
Ranked first in the world for the number of connections to Internet exchange points by the independent body Euro-IX and tied for the most connected network by TeleGeorgraphy, HE's network represents nearly 40% of IPv6 and 16% of IPv4 Internet routing tables, with five redundant 100G paths crossing North America, five separate 100G paths between the U.S. and Europe, and 100G rings in Europe and Asia.
This superior international connectivity will directly benefit Positive’s client base, which includes the BBC, FTSE 100 corporations, UK government departments, major NGOs, leading banks and insurance companies, high-profile e-commerce retailers, and leading celebrities including Stephen Fry and Ricky Gervais, the latter with whom Positive won a Guinness World Record for hosting the most downloaded podcast.
Serena Clarke from Positive’s Partnerships team commented, "This is a very exciting new partnership which builds on Positive's extensive capacity in the London connectivity market. We are proud to partner with Hurricane Electric's world-beating network in order to offer fantastic performance and resilience wins for our customers."
“We're thrilled to launch this new deployment with Positive Internet which allows them to leverage next-generation Internet connectivity while meeting the capacity demands of their diverse customer base,” said Lori (Speedy) Cundy, Global Relationship Manager at Hurricane Electric. “Our expanded relationship will also deliver cost efficiency and improved latency.”
