The president of Seychelles and the tourism minister appoints new ambassadors

Online, June 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The president told the congregation that he is going to create a new post of secretary of the state for the cabinet Affairs and the role was to head the civil service. He come up with new ideas on how to help the private sector because he surely believed the people had the potential to do great work for the country. Ministers were advised to work hard and ensure that better services are provided to the people without the hassle of making long queues in need of something. Said President James Michel.

The minister further said the tourism ambassadors were to ensure that they uphold and still build up the Seychelles as the best tourist destination. The tourism industry has its own email addresses, newsletters and soon to have their own forum on the famous social networks so that they get ideas and updates from different people of different countries.

Since the official launch, the tourism ambassadors have been working endlessly to promote as well as market the islands to the world. The ministry still appointed 14 tourism ambassadors in the last six months and still a group of about 46 were appointed in March to strengthen the sector. He still said that all Seychellois people particularly those who live a broad are taken to be ordinary ambassadors of their country. Another group of people will be declared on the Seychelles' National Day which will be on 18th June. The people of this country has a saying that once Seychellois, always a Seychellois. This simply means that all people abroad and within the country make sure that they raise awareness about the islands in their country thus attract many tourists.

The minister of Tourism has appointed a group of about 35 people as the tourism ambassadors. The number has been increased to 95 members distributed worldwide to present Seychelles. Seychelles is credited for being the first country to appoint its members to different countries so as to promote its tourism. The destination is well known for its mountain bike that has also been of an advantage to the country.
