The Results of the Third Annual UX Marathon

Online, November 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Moscow company UIDesign Group (www.eng.uidesign.ru) hosted the third annual UX Marathon (www.uxmarathon.com) on October 25 - November 02. Previously it was known under the name of Usability Marathon (www.marathon.uidesign.ru). Every year this online-conference makes possible the communication and sharing of experience between usability and UX specialists from different countries and the world leading experts in UI design and usability testing.

The successful experience of the last year predetermined the online-format of this year event. UX Marathon 2010 consisted of 13 webinars (http://www.uxmarathon.com/program.html) devoted to mobile interfaces and future trends. They were conducted by 14 speakers from 6 countries: the USA, Finland, the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands and Russia. The total number of webinars' participants was around 330, they were people from 13 countries: Australia, Canada, Columbia, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, Panama, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Russia, the UK, and the USA).

The webinar tool used this year enabled the speaker's video broadcast, what made the discussion after the presentation more vivid, as the attendees could not only hear the speaker, but also see him/her. Another novelty was the webinar conducted by two speakers at the same time - "The Future of the Web User Experience" by Bill Albert (Design and Usability Center at Bentley University, USA) and Moira Dorsey (Forrester Research, USA). It was Bill Albert's second time as UX Marathon speaker.

The attendees of the webinars also had a chance to meet online other UX Marathon "veterans" - Rolf Molich (DialogDesign, Denmark), who was the speaker of Usability Marathon 2008, and Robert Schumacher (User Centric, USA). Robert spoke at UX Marathon for the third time. Among other renowned speakers one should mention Jared Spool and Luke Wroblewski.

After the event the organizers received mostly positive feedback from the attendees, who underlined the high level of the reports, truly interesting themes and material feed. One of UX Marathon attendees said 'The speakers shared their own professional experience, that gave a good ground for further thinking and developing of our own ideas with their successive implementation in the real projects. Webinars provided original opinions and genuine ways of solving the problems which designers usually encounter.'
