The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) Partners With Online Broadcast Specialist Switch Media To Make Live Online Viewing Of The Mumbai Racing Season Possible.
Online, December 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The RWITC signs Switch Media to stream its races online and provide a live 'as it happens' race by race telecast from the track. Visitors to the RWITC website (http://www.rwitc.com) can also view all the races of the day online, 20 minutes after the race is finished.
Vivek Jain, Chairman of the RWITC said: "Switch Media has truly been a great partner in enabling the best of class Video on Demand and telecast services for the RWITC, thereby ensuring a first of such services for any club in India. Members are now able to search through a vast repository of content to find previous races as well as view races from the comfort of their homes in a manner like they never have before. We are delighted to be working with Switch Media on this initiative."
Namit Bimbhat, CEO (India) of Switch Media said: "This was an important milestone which has brought racing to a larger audience by enabling RWITC with the latest in online video delivery.
The use of the Switch Media Content management system as well as our global hosting and distribution capabilities means we're able to process large volumes of content and bring this to local and overseas audiences in the quickest time which is an important criterion for racing."
The Switch platform works by taking a high quality video feed which is then digitized and optimized through the use of real time video encoders. The encoder provides the video stream to the network of Switch Media servers. The encoded video stream is then distributed and duplicated through their global network of servers and delivered to the RWITC site.
